Durbin: GOP Immigration Bill Threatens DACA Program

U.S. Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) spoke on the Senate Floor today prior to a procedural vote on a bill that would shut down the 2014 expansion of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program and put at great risk the original DACA program. Durbin urged his colleagues to vote against the Immigration Rule of Law Act, which would deport 300,000 Dreamers who would be eligible for the 2014 expansion of the DACA program and threaten to shut down the entire DACA program.
