Durbin, Jefferson celebrate funds for new RMTD center

ROCKFORD — U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin and state Rep. Chuck Jefferson discussed federal funding for the Rockford Mass Transit District’s East Side Transfer Center. Construction of the transportation center will begin later this year.

There has been $5.7 million awarded for the transportation center in the past year.
