Two Rivers Head Start Agency

[Aurora, IL] U.S Senator Dick Durbin visited Two River Head Start to hear from the director and staff how federal spending cuts passed by the House of Representatives would affect the program and the families it serves. H.R. 1 would drastically reduce funding for early childhood education and cause thousands of Head Start and Early Head Start classrooms across the nation to close their doors and lay off teachers and staff. In Illinois, the spending cuts would force more than 11,000 low-income children and their families to be dropped from the critical education, health, and support service program statewide.
