Durbin Announces $1 Million in Recovery Act Funding for Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit

[WASHINGTON, D.C.] – Assistant Senate Majority Leader Dick Durbin (D-IL) today announced that the Department of Transportation (DOT) has awarded $1,000,000 in funding through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to the Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District. Today’s funding will be used for the purchase and installation of a safety and security system at transit district’s facilities and bus stop locations. Cameras with motion detectors will be installed at the Illinois Terminal, maintenance garages and the administrative and operations facility.
