Durbin Announces $800,000 For Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) today announced that the Federal Aviation Administration has awarded Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport in Springfield $800,000 to purchase a replacement aircraft rescue and fire fighting vehicle. Today’s funding will help the airport meet federal safety regulations.

“These critical funds will help improve safety for travelers flying in and out of Springfield’s airport,” said Durbin. “Investing in our small airports is key to our state’s economic success, and I will continue working to ensure Illinois communities have access to the federal resources that make air travel safer and more efficient.”
