Durbin Discusses Illinois' Position As Electric Vehicle Leader With EVBox
SPRINGFIELD – U.S. Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-IL) today met virtually with the leadership of EVBox to discuss the Amsterdam-based company’s new headquarters in Libertyville, Illinois. On the call, Durbin spoke about the Senate-passed bipartisan infrastructure package, the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, and the $7.5 billion for EV charging infrastructure that will help the U.S. and Illinois invest in the future of cleaner, electric transportation. Durbin reiterated his commitment to connecting Illinois-based companies to federal programs that will support the expansion of EVs nationwide and ensure Illinois leads in EV innovation.
“The electric vehicle revolution is happening here in America’s heartland. In choosing Libertyville as their North America headquarters, EVBox is investing in Illinois. With continued commitment from the federal government, we can ensure that the EV industry succeeds in Illinois and leads to cleaner, greener transportation systems across the country,” said Durbin.
