Durbin Discusses Military Readiness with Commander of Air Mobility Command General Minihan
WASHINGTON – U.S. Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-IL), a member of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense, today met with Commander of Air Mobility Command (AMC) General Mike Minihan to discuss the U.S. Air Force’s operations related to airlift, air refueling, air mobility support, aeromedical evacuation, and senior leader transport. During their meeting, Durbin received an update on mission readiness, improvements across the base, and quality of life for military families.
“Air Mobility Command, headquartered at Scott Air Force Base, is vital to the Air Force’s military operations. AMC airmen are at the forefront of nearly every crisis by delivering supplies to communities severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, assisting in the withdrawal from Afghanistan, and now offering military support to Ukrainians as they fight off Putin,” said Durbin. “In our meeting today, I thanked General Minihan for his leadership and promised to continue to support the many Airmen and women and their families across the base.”
