Durbin Meets With Chinese American Service League
WASHINGTON – During Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, U.S. Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-IL) today met with Paul Luu, CEO of the Chinese American Service League (CASL) in Chicago, to discuss the organization’s involvement with Change InSight, a nationwide partnership with community-based organizations that provide social services to the AAPI community. Through Change InSight, CASL has helped launch a data hub for AAPI and immigrant communities across six metropolitan areas nationwide to enhance the collection of granular local data, in order to improve the delivery of services.
Durbin also received an update on CASL’s senior housing activities and meal delivery program, which served more than 600,000 last year.
“The Chinese American Service League has provided an invaluable service to the AAPI community in the Chicago area, fostering community while providing essential support in the form of housing, meal delivery, and health care,” said Durbin. “I enjoyed my conversation with Paul Luu, CEO of CASL, this afternoon, and I look forward to seeing this organization continue to meet the community’s needs.”
