Durbin Meets with Illinois Manufacturers Association
WASHINGTON – U.S. Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-IL) today met with the Illinois Manufacturers Association (IMA) to discuss opportunities for electric vehicle production in Illinois, the CHIPS and Science Act, which will help relieve supply chain issues, and the economy. Durbin also secured key priorities in the Inflation Reduction Act that will benefit the more than 550,000 manufacturing workers in Illinois.
“I appreciate the opportunity to hear firsthand about the concerns and priorities of Illinois manufacturers as we continue to strengthen our economy,” said Durbin. “With the recently passed CHIPS and Science Act, Inflation Reduction Act, and Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, we are providing needed support forour manufacturers. These Illinois companies have shown resilience over the years, and I will continue to advocate for our state’s manufacturing community and its workers.”
