Durbin Meets With Todd Kim, Nominee To Be Assistant Attorney General For The Environment And Natural Resources Division
WASHINGTON – U.S. Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-IL), Chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, today met virtually with Todd Kim, President Biden’s nominee to be Assistant Attorney General for the Environment and Natural Resources Division at the Department of Justice. On the call, Durbin and Kim discussed their mutual commitment to environmental policy that both combats climate change and stimulates our economy. They additionally discussed Kim’s pending role at the Department of Justice, and their mutual goal of restoring the Department’s independence. Kim will testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee during his confirmation hearing tomorrow, April 14.
“Todd Kim has been nominated for a key position at the Department of Justice, one which will play a critical role in restoring the Department’s leadership and integrity,” said Durbin. “He brings with him a wealth of experience and a commitment to the law, irrespective of personal beliefs or partisan politics. I look forward to hearing his testimony tomorrow.”
