Senate Confirms Jennifer Sung To Ninth Circuit Of Appeals
Ms. Sung becomes the first Asian-American woman to hold an Oregon seat on the Ninth Circuit
WASHINGTON – Today, the U.S. Senate confirmed Jennifer Sung’s nomination to serve on the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. U.S. Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-IL), Chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, released the following statement regarding Ms. Sung’s confirmation:
“Throughout her extraordinary tenure on the Oregon Employment Relations Board, Jennifer Sung has demonstrated a commitment to impartiality, a thoughtful approach to decision-making, and a keen ability to separate her personal views from the law and the facts at hand. Ms. Sung’s confirmation will also add demographic and professional diversity to the federal bench as the first Asian-American woman to hold an Oregon seat on the Ninth Circuit, and as an expert in labor law.”
